About DICJ Logo
The mission of DICJ is to operate the deposit insurance system properly, toward achieving the objective of the Deposit Insurance Act; to establish the deposit insurance system, contributing to the maintenance of stability of the financial system in order to protect depositors and ensure settlement of funds related to failed financial institutions.
This logo was established in April 1998. It has a four-blade blue propeller combined with the initial letters of Deposit Insurance Corporation of Japan. The logo incorporates the hope of DICJ to be a driver to protect depositors and maintain the stability of the financial system, engaging in its four main operations.
Four blades and DICJ's four major operations
Four blades represent the DICJ’s four major operations, which are:

Deposit Insurance Operation
- Collection of insurance premiums
- Enhancement of depositors’ name-based aggregation database (on-site inspection, system verification, and guidance and advice)
- Insurance payment and partial payment (limited coverage)
- Financial assistance to assuming financial institutions
- PR activities related to deposit insurance system and DICJ operations
Failure Resolution
- Operations related to financial administrators
- Purchase of deposits and other claims
- Full coverage of deposits and special crisis management as measures to deal with a financial crisis
Purchase of Non-performing loans/ Pursuit of Liability
- Collection of assets obtained from failed financial institutions
- Purchase and collection of specified difficult recovery claims
- Asset investigation regarding malicious debtors
- Pursuit of civil and criminal liabilities of former managers of failed financial institutions and other parties concerned
Capital Injection
- Capital injection as a measure to deal with a financial crisis
- Capital injection intended to strengthen financial functions
- Management and disposal of preferred shares and other capital-raising instruments acquired through capital injection
