The Deposit Insurance Corporation of Japan (DICJ) will host the 12th annual meeting of the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee (APRC) of the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) and the associated international conference from April 23 to April 24 in Kyoto, Japan. The details of the meetings are as follows.
Founded in 2002, the International Association of Deposit Insurers (IADI) is a non-profit organization representing deposit insurers around the world (75 deposit insurers from 73 jurisdictions). It is domiciled at the Bank for International Settlements (BIS) in Basel, Switzerland.
In IADI, eight regional committees, namely, (ⅰ) Africa, (ⅱ) the Asia-Pacific, (ⅲ) the Caribbean, (ⅳ) Eurasia, (ⅴ) Europe, (ⅵ) Latin America, (ⅶ) the Middle East and North Africa, and (ⅷ) North America, have been established to reflect the characteristics of each region in the activities of the Association as a whole and to conduct activities in line with those regional characteristics. Officials of the DICJ have been serving as the Asia-Pacific Regional Committee (APRC) Chairperson since the IADI was founded.
Since its establishment, APRC has held annual meetings hosted by member institutions. This year, the DICJ will host the 12th Annual Meeting in Kyoto.
